What is it about?
This study analyses the reactions of scholars to performance measurement (PM) systems in academia. Large datasets collected over time, combining both quantitative and qualitative elements, were gathered via surveys in 2010 and 2015 from scholars working in teaching- and research-oriented tasks at three Finnish universities. The study suggests that even tough most scholars remain critical of PM systems in universities, many of them are adapting to PM systems. This signals significant changes that are generally occurring in academia.
