Why is it important?

This is the first major analysis of research on Fairtrade gender impacts, drawing on studies carried out in a range of countries and product areas. It provides rich case study material to describe the conditions under which different women may, or may not not, benefit from Fairtrade. It also provides a conceptual framework which can be used for future research and for strategic planning within the fair trade movement.
