Perspectives

"This study makes a contribution to research and practice in several ways. A critical literature review of learning styles (including rival theories and instruments) encourages further research. The COFA and recursive regression methods (with benchmarks) were explained to facilitate replication, extension, or criticism of this study. Most importantly, the sample was a normal distribution, the ILS was validated for this population, then two statistically significant dendrogram models were developed to answer the research hypotheses. The conclusion is: for the 715 multicultural undergraduate students surveyed, their learning styles can predict their outcome for management or statistics courses. Students as well as professors can use this knowledge as meta-cognition to inform study strategies, course design and instruction. " (p. 236)
