What is it about?

The present paper relies on previous studies on bubble dynamics and wave propagation in thin-walled tubes filled with polymeric liquid. It is devoted to the modeling of sound propagation within an elastic tube, filled with a polymeric liquid which contains a small amount of size-distributed fine gas bubbles.

Why is it important?

The interplay between bubble, liquid and tube wall parameters enriches the physical picture of sound propagation in the system, and makes the problem an attractive subject for investigation, especially in the practically important case of mixture flows in tubes, in which liquid-wall interaction also influences sound dispersion and attenuation.

Perspectives

The impact of liquid temperature, wave symmetry, and non-linear effects will be the subject of future studies of the author in this field.
