What is it about?

Labor communication has attracted increased public attention since it is an indicator of the importance companies placed on the well-being of their workforce. Safe and healthy working environments, discrimination in the workplace, unequal pay between men and women, education and training are crucially important matters for companies around the world. Vuontisjarvi (2006) argues that the relationship between business and its employees can be regarded as precondition of CSR.

Why is it important?

By investigating the extent of labor communication, this study highlights certain current labor communication practices based on the primary global guidelines. This study thus contributes insights for a better understanding of labor communication practices among three jurisdictional business systems

Perspectives

A broader international survey of labor practices using the specific guidelines of the globally respected Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has not yet been conducted.
