What is it about?
Most research in entrepreneurship requires researchers to collect empirical data. But not everything can be observed in entrepreneurship. We cannot observe entrepreneurs' minds which direct their behavior. What if we can test various assumptions in entrepreneurs' minds in a simulation inside a computer? (in silico experiments). This paper offers a "how to" for researchers interested in conducting agent-based modeling as an alternative approach to doing entrepreneurship research.

Why is it important?
Few scholars have attempted to conduct research on entrepreneurs' minds and behavior by conducted repeated experiments on the assumptions that underlie their behavior. This paper is one of the first that offers the rationale and "how to" guide for researchers to conduct agent-based modeling research in entrepreneurship.
