What is it about?

The work gives design details of a fully automated and autonomous PCBA remanufacturing cell using a robot. The design of the remanufacturing cell is carried out using the phases of machine design.

Why is it important?

The development of flexible manufacturing systems are rather complicated and expensive. This is because it contains electronic control of various machinery, design and selection of mechanical devices and tools, and the development of software. Finally all should be integrated properly. Contrary to there are limited publications giving the all details. It particularly give details related to concept generation and concept selection stages during the design by considering the requirements and objectives. It is a good example how to design a computer controlled manufacturing system. It can also be considered as a mechatronic application.
