This article reveals some critical insights for managers who have struggled with the leadership necessary to effect participatory change. In it, the author and noted scholar on leadership, Joe Raelin, makes the case that democratic leadership, referred to as “leaderful practice,” should be the fundamental form of leadership that characterizes participatory organizational change.
