What is it about?

This is a survey of a group of students to find out their preferences for different proposed features of next-generation library discovery systems (also called Online Public Access Catalogues, OPACs).

Why is it important?

This work was done when library catalogues were undergoing rapid change and lots of new ideas were being proposed. However, vendors and libraries did not yet have data on whether these new features would be useful or liked by end users. This study attempts to get such feedback.
