What is it about?

This paper explores stakeholder experiences in the process of reducing or stopping psychotropic medications for individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour. The findings suggest that involving carers and individuals with intellectual disabilities, providing ongoing support, and using non-medication approaches such as Positive Behaviour Support can help reduce medication use and improve quality of life. The study emphasises the need for teamwork and education among different stakeholder groups involved in the process to make it successful.
