What is it about?
Using the state-level data in the United States, this study finds that the longer duration the states instituted a shelter-in-place order is related with lower the cases and deaths from COVID-19. This study also finds that states’ demographic characteristics such as the percentage of unsheltered homeless, family size, percentage of individuals with health insurance, income inequality, unemployment rate, gender, and racial demographics are related to cases, deaths and recovery rates from COVID-19.
