What is it about?
La Ruche Vanier, a nonprofit in Quebec City, provides food donations to vulnerable individuals. In 2023–2024, the organization faced a sharp decline in food supply while demand increased, creating operational challenges. Pascale Bouffard, the Deputy Director, had to rethink supply strategies to maintain food assistance services. This case study explores how procurement strategies can help nonprofits navigate food shortages and ensure sustainable operations. Students will analyze real-world data, step into Pascale’s role, and develop procurement solutions to stabilize the food supply. This case helps managers understand nonprofit supply chain challenges and make strategic decisions in resource-limited environments.
