What is it about?

This study looks at why it's crucial to have accessible, easy-to-use, and clean public toilets when you're out and about. We're particularly interested in what people who use wheelchairs have to say about this. In our research, we talked to people who use wheelchairs, and they told us about different things that make a public bathroom easy, hard or even unsafe to use. We found that keeping bathrooms clean and in good shape is very important. When bathrooms are well-maintained, they stay safe and easy to use for wheelchair users. This shows that how a bathroom is designed and how well it's taken care of can affect the health, inclusion and participation of people with disabilities in their communities.
