What is it about?

Binder Jetting Additive Manufacturing enables fabrication of complex metal parts by inkjetting binder into a bed of metal powder in a layer-wise fashion. We investigate the interaction effects of binder droplet size, powder particle size, and layer thickness affect part quality. We show, for the first time, that smaller binder droplets, smaller powders, and smaller layer thicknesses can improve the strength of printed parts.
