Compensation for farms compulsorily acquired for mining in Ghana: an analysis of the laws, compensation practices and valuation methods

What is it about?

The issue of adequate compensation for farmers impacted by mining remains a topical issue in mineral rich countries. We assess the valuation methods and the compensation practices for farm valuations in Ghana. Our findings reveal that the express legal directives and valuation standards are central towards ensuring fair and adequate compensation for expropriated farmers.
