What is it about?

The physical health of police officers is often affected by exposures during their work. We examined police related illnesses from a national database collected by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Officers died from job related illness at a higher frequency and rate for many diseases, the most prominent being heart attack and cancer.

Police officers are exposed to considerable stressors in their work- this affects their health- organizations need to address this issue with help in prevention through education and availability of help.
