What is it about?

A state of the university address is an opportunity to reflect on higher education at large, as well as on the status of a particular institution; the value of a broad-based liberal arts curriculum; and the long-term implications of strong relationships between faculty and students and alumni and alma mater.

Why is it important?

The State of the University Address can be a lens on the thinking of the president; the degree of transparency regarding enrollment, finances, and quality indicators; and the quality of interactions between the president and faculty during the Q&A period.
