What is it about?
Restaurant menus do more than list food and prices; they tell stories about culture, creativity, and values. This study shows how menus in Michelin-starred restaurants communicate ideas such as culinary identity, cooking techniques, sustainability, and quality. By examining menus, Michelin Guide descriptions, and restaurant websites, the study develops a clear and practical framework that helps readers understand what menus are really saying beyond economic information. The framework makes it easier to identify references to local products, international influences, traditional and innovative cooking practices, and sustainability efforts. Overall, the study helps make restaurant menus more transparent and easier to interpret for researchers, professionals, and diners interested in fine-dining gastronomy.
