What is it about?
We investigate the role of information and communication technology (ICT) in mitigating carbon emissions in OECD countries from 1990 to 2018. Results confirms the significance of ICT (proxied by the mobile cellular subscription and Internet usage) on carbon emissions. Additionally, GDP growth and renewable energy found to significantly impact carbon emissions. These findings offer crucial implications for both policymakers and researchers.
