Supportive Digital Tools (SDTs) for self-management of health are more widely available. We explore consumer perceptions of supportive healthcare self-management and preference for different levels of interactive features as social support in a health services context. The research identifies themes of lack of motivation to initiate an SDT search and consumer desire to monitor and control health concerns using technology to avoiding depletion of resources and consumer preference for multilayered social support offerings of a personalised and proactive nature.
