What is it about?

Is drinking alcohol an inevitable part of university life or can we make take positive steps to tackle this? NUS (National Union of Students) are making positive changes through their Alcohol Impact accreditation programme, recognising the importance of a whole institute approach that is proactive rather than reactive.

Why is it important?

This article shows that through a whole institutional approach we are able to take steps to promote responsible drinking in students and consequentially mitigate the negative effects associated with excess alcohol consumption.

Perspectives

I hope this article challenges the widely publicised perceptions that drinking excess alcohol is a evitable part of student life.
