What is it about?
The paper explains the use of Enterprise Social Media (ESM) to enhance employees' participation in open innovation. We argue employees' use of ESM for innovation increases when employees know about (a) the innovation possibilities using ESM, (b) the values of ESM use for innovation, and (c) the organizational support for the use of ESM. We also discuss that ESM use per se cannot improve innovation productivity unless it improves the culture of knowledge-sharing and risk-taking among the employees first.
