What is it about?
Consistency of responses to online surveys was examined. Responses to personal information questions and Likert scale items were compared. Then, the role of perceived social support, social appearance anxiety, academic self–efficacy and social networking habits on inconsistent responding was investigated.

Why is it important?
The study contributes to our understanding regarding the reliability of responses in online survey administration. The paper further highlights the importance of individual variables that explain response consistency.
Perspectives
The journal's editorial processing was really satisfactory as the comments of the Editor and reviewers taught me a lot. The study poses some limitations since it only addressed a unique gaming application on Facebook. Thus, findings may vary in further contexts. However, findings imply that we should be careful while relying on the personal information provided by online survey respondents particularly when we need to conduct comparisons based on that information.
