Islamic banking in Bangladesh: a literature review and future research agenda

What is it about?

This is the first bibliometric analysis of Islamic Banking in Bangladesh (IBB). The IBB literature focused on the lack of an Islamic banking act and a central shariah board from the government in Bangladesh. Despite the lack of rules from the government, IBB is growing significantly. Publications on Islamic Finance, credit cards, Sukuk and stock exchanges in Bangladesh are small. It presents the Islamic Finance oriented future research agenda in Bangladesh.
