What is it about?
Museums serve to preserve the histories of people. However, in doing so they often emphasize the importance of one culture, race, or ethnicity over another. They also limit who has access. We highlight several ways that one prominent art institute polices and manages its space and art to the public.

Why is it important?
In a society that is increasingly fractured by racism, we examine spaces in society in order to think about ways institutions such as museums must, and can be less exclusive.
Perspectives
This was a great collaborative project between scholars who care about the arts and its affects on people in society and who gets to be included and who often gets excluded.
