What is it about?
The index case of COVID-19 in Nigeria was reported on 27 February 2020. A gradual increase of cases subsequently informed total and partial lockdown of cities, closure of all schools and shutdown of government offices in order to curtail COVID-19 spread. COVID-19 and subsequent drastic curtailment policies have implications for vulnerable groups especially informal workers who constitute more than 70 percent of the active working population in Nigeria. This reflective discourse critically engages the plight of informal workers in the context of COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria. Data were sourced from secondary sources,10 rapid case studies were conducted. The research makes five policy recommendations
