What is it about?

Managing the budget in local Government is paramount to having healthy financial management. However, the concern for having a transparent budgeting system is even more critical as budget dysfunctionalities have become a concern to be invested in within the public sector. Transparency is also a major concern of Ghana's budgetary system. We address these concerns by designing a consortium blockchain budget monitoring and evaluation system to set a mechanism to monitor various budget projects and transactions for Ghana's Local Government.

Why is it important?

The study provides a unique blockchain system that solves transparency concerns in the Ghanaian local government by offering a unique security and network platform for its members. With this distributed ledger technology (DLT), the entire budget process, right from the national to the grassroot, is made open to all peers within the network. Our designed system framework serves as budgetary control for efficiency

Perspectives
