Why is it important?
Practically, the findings of this study are important because they highlight the need for service organizations to provide adequate job resources in order to capitalize on the increases in employee engagement that result from leaders using transformational leadership behaviors.
Perspectives
I hope this article highlights the importance of job resources for realizing the effects of transformational leadership on employee engagement in TT's service sector. At low levels of job resources, increasing transformational leadership may actually reduce employee engagement. Moreover, all job resources do not appear to be equally important for stimulating employee engagement - supervisor support may have an adverse effect! This unexpected finding points to an interesting area for future research on job resources.
