What is it about?

The results of this study indicate that starting to export increase female employment rates in Turkish manufacturing firms thus decreases gender inequalities in the labour market. This effect appears in the year when firms start to export and continues in the following years. We find differential effects of exporting across different types of industries.Such positive effects are more evident in low technology intensive, low wage and labor-intensive goods exporting sectors.
