Housing affordability continues to decline leading to welfare implications. This study examines the determinants of housing affordability to investigate differences among various immigrant groups in Canada.

Why is it important?

The study provides valuable policy contributions towards immigration integration and addressing housing unaffordability. The findings show an uneven housing affordability amongst immigrants in particular a bigger negative impact on recent immigrants and those from Asia and Africa.
