What is it about?
The design of physical environments can impact upon the wellbeing of people with dementia, yet poorly designed residential care settings continue to be constructed. We test the feasibility of developing design stage assessment tools intended to help improve the implementation of dementia inclusive design.

Why is it important?
Early decisions in the architectural design of care settings have a bigger impact on the wellbeing of residents than previously realised.
Perspectives
We hope that this research helps designers and others to consider the needs of occupants with dementia as early as possible in the design process.
