What is it about?

This research tests snack and drink vending machine point of sale designs, applying UK Government policy about encouraging healthier lifestyle choices. The experiment in this research takes place within one of the largest UK NHS hospital complexes. The hospital serves approximately 1 million outpatients per year, plus inpatients, visitors and the staff working there. The aim of this research is to find designs that encourage healthier lifestyle choices. The research uses robust statistical modelling to test the designs. The regression modelling that is used in this research is widely applicable. It can be used to measure change over time in any counting data set such as product sales.
