Why is it important?

The main finding is that knowledge workers’ office types should be differentiated according to their tasks and work patterns.

Perspectives

Knowledge workers’ need for support facilities and services is highly dependent of the kind of offices and workstations provided. The present research has also uncovered possible age or generation effects that have to be taken into consideration when developing and designing offices, workstations and other facilities and services for knowledge workers.
