What is it about?
Our study findings show that immigrants' cultural values, beliefs, and ways of doing things are judged by native employers and co-workers. These judgments prevent immigrants from equal access to jobs, promotions, and developing social relations. In diverse societies, we need to create more inclusive work spaces to be able to benefit from the talents and skills of newcomers. Intercultural competency training is advocated by the authors as a first step into creating welcoming workplaces by alleviating cultural bias, judgments, and conflict.
