What is it about?
This study explores how disaster resilience can be embedded into construction project decisions, from planning and design to procurement, construction and demolition/recycling. It proposes a lifecycle-oriented framework that connects regulations, digital tools, resilient materials, supply-chain decisions and circular recovery practices to support more resilient post-disaster reconstruction.

Why is it important?
Disaster-resilience research has focused mainly on design and construction, while procurement and demolition/recycling have received far less attention. This matters because procurement influences material availability, supplier capacity and continuity, while demolition and recycling shape how post-disaster debris can be recovered and reused. Addressing these overlooked lifecycle stages could support more integrated and circular approaches to resilient reconstruction.
Perspectives
I see disaster resilience not as a single design or engineering issue, but as a management challenge that spans the entire construction project lifecycle. This study reflects my interest in connecting disaster resilience with practical construction decisions, particularly in post-earthquake reconstruction contexts. I hope the proposed framework can encourage researchers and practitioners to look beyond design and construction and consider procurement, digital decision-support and circular recovery as part of a more integrated resilience approach.
