What is it about?
Our study systematically reviews the research landscape of humanitarian financing, aiming to identify key domains essential for developing a resilient humanitarian value ecosystem. We employed BERTopic to comprehensively analyse 1,043 academic publications from the Web of Science database. This systematic review identified six distinct research themes within humanitarian financing and their temporal distribution: Disaster Risk and Climate Recovery, Refugee Humanitarian Health Services, Preparedness and Response to Health Emergencies, Supply Chain Management, Food Security and Nutrition, and Global Health Challenges. The study emphasizes the effective utilization of financial resources to address global crises and promote sustainable development. We suggest various strategies to leverage humanitarian financing for a resilient humanitarian value ecosystem and extend the literature on resiliency and humanitarian operations.
