What is it about?
The hydrogen evolution reaction can occur on X80 steel under AC interference. The critical AC current density at the onset of hydrogen evolution reaction depends on the impedance module of electrode under AC interference and the ratio of Tafel slope (i.e. βa/βc). The hydrogen evolution capacity of X80 steel under AC interference is quantified for the first time.
