Accounting, pluralism and democracy
What is it about?
This special issue contains a selection of articles examining how and whether accounting might better serve pluralism and democracy, especially with respect to citizen and civil society involvement.
Why is it important?
Accounting has concentrated on the needs of government and commercial organisations, and capital markets but has neglected how it may better serve pluralism and democracy. This selection of articles identifies how this might be better achieved and the problems in doing so.
