What is it about?

This work introduces a software package that is capable of obtaining one-dimensional interatomic distance profile data (so-called pair distribution function, i.e., PDF) from 2-dimensional electron diffraction pattern acid by image processing technique and the knowledge of diffraction physics.

Why is it important?

It benefits to the case that samples too small or little to excite neutron or X-ray diffraction for traditional PDF analysis of diffraction data.

Perspectives

It will attract the researchers who need fast generation or large dataset processing of electron diffraction data but with less knowledge about programming and the physics of pair distribution function. The current authors will integrate PDF analysis for neutron, X-ray and electron diffraction into a universal processing platform.
