What is it about?

Totarol is a diterpenic naturally occurred compound, known to have several biological activities. In this work, we use a simple esterification reaction to transform its alcohol fonction to an ester one aiming at varying its biological properties.

Natural esters are widely used in many industrial areas, mainly in pharmaceutical industry.

Perspectives

We plan to prepare other esters and different other derivatives, then evaluate their biological activities.
