What is it about?

Pterin-dependent metalloenzymes cover a whole range of structures and functions and involve different metal centres(Fe,Mo,W). The synthetic,structural,physico-chemical and reactivity studies on the new synthetic coordination compounds of pterin lignads are helpful in understanding the different facets of the above enzymes, including the mehanisms of the relevant reactivity aspects.

Why is it important?

Knowledge about the different facets of pterin-dependent metalloenzymes is still far from being complete. Vigorous effort is needed for this purpose. This ongoing work is an effort in that direction.
