What is it about?

FEL performance achieved at PAL-XFEL is described in terms of FEL intensity, pointing jitter, wavelength jitter, and others. This unprecedented performance is attributed to the three chicane bunch compressor scheme and the high performance linac.

Why is it important?

We carried out the simulation study to compare the three chicane BC scheme and the 2-BC scheme. The result is pretty clear that the 3-BC scheme shows a better performance than 2-BC in terms of emittance growth and energy jitter.


This is a good chance to share the PAL-XFEL performance result with people who are interested in free electron laser.
