What is it about?

KT transition temperature of 4He film is strongly suppressed and existence of the quantum critical point (QCP) is implied under high pressure 3He. Recently, strong correlated two dimensional Boson system attracts much attention related to QCP. The localization and the superfluidity are separated by the QCP at T = 0 and some scaling behaviors are predicted in the vicinity of the QCP. The 4He film pressurized by liquid 3He may be ideal sample to study strong correlation effect in such system. In this paper, we measured the surface specularity of the 3He quasiparticles to detect 4He film superfluid transition under various 3He liquid pressures and 4He film thicknesses. The transition temperatures are consistent with the dynamic KT theory. These KT transition temperatures are strongly suppressed and extrapolate to zero at high pressure. These behaviors are consistent with the theory including the strong correlation.
