What is it about?

We developed a laser-based switch capable of selecting short pulses out of the long gyrotron pulses, thus enabling the use of the gyrotron as power sources for Terahertz accelerators and a shot-to-shot spectrometer capable of precise diagnostics.

Why is it important?

Terahertz accelerators can reduce the cost and size of future accelerators for industrial, medical, scientific and security applications. RadiaBeam has developed a tool enabling to use the existing power sources to drive such accelerators.
