Perspectives

Although I didn't see it that way when I wrote the article, this work is officially the first proposal for an analogue quantum simulator of polaron physics. It didn't took very long for others to propose alternative implementations using Rydberg atoms, trapped ions, and even superconducting circuits. The polaron problem is one of the oldest and more complex problems in condensed matter physics, and it's very hard to compute polaron properties in the most general case. Maybe a quantum simulator is the way to go if we want to fully understand polaron physics.
