What is it about?

Indirect vibration stimulation, i.e. vibration applied through the upper or lower limbs have been shown to be useful for a range of rehabilitation and sports applications. Despite this, we don't yet fully understand the effects of vibration stimulation on neuromuscular responses. Especially, for the various vibration characteristics (frequency, amplitude, acceleration) and muscle contraction levels.

Why is it important?

In this study, we show for the first time, the collective effects of different vibration frequencies, amplitudes and muscle contraction levels on neuromuscular responses in the lower limb.

Perspectives

The hope is that, this article will contribute towards designing of more effective vibration exercise regimes for rehabilitation and sports applications.
