Type VI secretion in Burkholderia

What is it about?

This publication reports a quantification method to determine the formation of cellular projections in macrophages infected with the cystic fibrosis pathogen Burkholderia cenocepacia. These projections are formed due to the activity of one or more effector proteins secreted by a Type VI secretion systems. These effectors affect the cell's cytoskeleton.
