Report on the emergence of the new Indian lineage of Zika virus

What is it about?

It is the first report on the emergence or a new genetic lineage of Zika virus in India, with novel non-synonymous mutations in its genome. This warrants further investigations on the implications of these in the human host as well as in the Aedine vectors involved in the transmission of the virus.
