What is it about?

The appropriate use of unfractionated heparin (UFH) for digital replantation remains unclear regarding the type, dose, indications, and timing of administration. This study shows that UFH administration is considered effective for patients aged 50 years or older, although the routine use of UFH is unnecessary after digital replantation surgery. A high dose rate of heparin by controlling the activated partial thromboplastin time may cause increased risks of drug-induced liver function failure.
