Orthognathic surgery rates in craniofacial microsomia (CFM0 The role of mandibular distraction osteogenesis (MDO) in management of CFM is controversial. We compared the need for orthognathic surgery to definitely correct facial asymmetry in two groups: 17 skeletally-mature patients who were treated with early-MDO and 21 patients who were not treated with early-MDO. The need for orthognathic surgery was similar in the two groups.
